Description
Pursuant to Article 1(b)(5) of Regional Law No. 10 of July 31, 2003, the Regional Department for Family and Social Policies will award a bonus of €1.000,00 for the birth of a child , within the limits of available funding.
The Bonus will be paid out through the Municipalities based on the parameters and criteria listed below.
The Bonus may be granted to children born or adopted between 01 October 2024 and 30 September 2025.
A parent or, in the event of a legal impediment, a parent or guardian, who meets the following requirements, may apply for the Bonus:
- Italian or EU citizenship, or a residence permit if non-EU; (residence permit holders must have resided in the Sicily Region for at least twelve months at the time of birth);
- residence in the Sicily Region at the time of birth or adoption;
- birth of the child in the territory of the Sicily Region;
- ISEE indicator of the applicant's family unit not exceeding € 10.140,00.
The application, drawn up exclusively on a pre-arranged form, is available at the Municipality's Social Services Office and can be downloaded from the website.
The following must be attached to the application:
- Photocopy of the applicant's identification document;
- ISEE indicator certificate issued by authorized offices, currently valid;
- Copy of any adoption order;
- For non-EU citizens, a copy of a valid residence permit, including a self-certification.
Applications must be submitted to the Municipality's Incoming Post Office or via certified email (PEC): comunebarcellonapdg@postecert.it - by the following dates:
- for those born or adopted between 01/10/2024 and 31/03/2025 no later than 16/05/2025
- for those born or adopted between 01/04/2025 and 30/09/2025 no later than 14/11/2025
The Regional Department for Family and Social Policies will prepare the regional ranking according to the procedures set out in Annex A to DDG No. 1055 of April 24, 2025. The Bonus will be paid to beneficiaries directly by their municipalities of residence, upon transfer of the resources by the aforementioned Regional Department. The benefit does not constitute income for tax and social security purposes and can be combined with similar benefits or allowances.
